Silverware vases

Silverware is a series of three hand turned porcelain vases, enriched by undergoing a delicate photographic process. Using seaweed foraged from the English channel, the specimens are carefully prepared and then graphically configured upon the surface of the photo-sensitive porcelain.

The black and white toned image is created by exposing the prepared vase to a spectrum of light that develops the silver salts in the vase creating a permanent photogram. The lasting image reveals the detailed fabric and delicacy of each specimen in contrast with a background of deep satin black.
