States of Play 07.07.17 - 24.09.17

States of Play, a new Crafts Council exhibition for Hull City of Culture 2017 has opened at the Humber Street Gallery. As part of the exhibition we present Luminaries, an interactive light installation. The exhibition celebrates how play shapes our lives and the world around us, turning upside down the idea that play is the territory of children. Instead it is revealed as a creative, social and political force that infuses all areas of life.

Presented at the exhibition are also works by Atelier NL; Jasleen Kaur; Lawrence Epps; Matthew Plummer-Fernandez; mischer’traxler; Pascal Anson; Paul Granjon; Peter Marigold; Richard Slee; Silo Studio; Soft Baroque; State of Play Games; Thorunn Arnadottir; and Ting Tong Chang.

States of Play launches Hull City of Culture’s Season Three: Freedom, and is a Crafts Council and Hull 2017 Partnership Exhibition, supported by the British Council.
